Group Counseling Sessions

Shoreline Wellness Center offers group therapy sessions that involve one or more therapists that lead patient groups that include five to 15 patients. During these sessions, the group will meet up for an hour or two weekly. Some group members may also choose to partake in individual therapy sessions and some patients may just stick to group sessions; both options are acceptable. 

Groups often are devised to focus on one specific topic, such as depression, obesity, panic disorders, social anxiety, chronic pain, or substance abuse. In other cases, group sessions operate more generally, so they may involve working on social skills and making improvements to anger, shyness, loneliness, low self-esteem, and other issues. There are also groups available for those who have experienced some sort of loss, whether it be a partner, child, family member, or friend.

The group is currently for parents with custody of the child/children. This group is not reunification work and does not replace court mandated parenting education classes.
